RBNY Physical Therapy- In the community...
We are currently seeking high school students interested in enrolling in our internship program. Students can observe therapists and patients during office hours, and learn the basics of being a Physical Therapist.
Our intent in starting this mentoring program is to help students identify with their future goals. This program could easily steer students into the medical field and in the right direction. We would offer advice as to which colleges and programs to attend, as well as provide opportunities to acquire skills that they would not gain in other situations.
We recently had a Rockaway student from a nearby high school complete an internship in our office. This student worked with us two days a week over a two-month period. He was able to see daily life as a physical therapist, understand the true meaning of helping others in need, and finally, was able to make the most important decision of his life. This student made the decision to apply to college to become a Physical Therapist. Once he made this decision each of our therapists spoke with him to offer advice as to which programs were the best in each university.
Contact our office for more details or to sign up for the program. If we don't answer please leave a message so we can get back to you as soon as possible!
